Gampaha courts Attorney Sulani Indika Wanniarachchi has sent a letter of demand to Architects Muditha Associates Demanding payments by contractor Olu Associates! in an affidavit in the Gampaha courts, the chairman Olu associates Upul Kumara Ramawickrema claims that initially he was unaware the House he was about to build belonged to Basil Rajapaksa, but when the foundation stone was laid by Basil in the presence of his wife Pushpa and Daughter, his suspicions were aroused
but when construction began he had no doubt .because Pusha Rajapaksa and Basil would visit the site often and make constant changes to the design. The payments were made to him in cash without any delays until the election happened, after which the former minister Basil Defaulted on his payment.
as it is highly unlikely a layman would lie to a court via an affidavit, so we have to assume this story is true. Ofcourse compared to Basils many assets this may seem insignificant but nevertheless it is praise worthy that a former employee from 7 – eleven and a parliamentarian in Sri Lanka with a Government Salary of 75,000 rs was able to save so much and construct a 100 million house
