Get to Know Theepthika;
Theepthika Gnanasegaran; who believes that real beauty cannot be seen, it can only be felt . She is a freelance content writer and scribbler from Vavuniya, Sri Lanka. She is basically a bharathanatyam dancer which she had learned for 13 years. She is 23 years old and following Higher National Diploma in English. While studying the language deeper, English literature made her fall in love with creative writing. She found writing as a tool to express her interests, feelings and emotions. She writes about love, life, mental health, and women empowerment. She hopes that words give an image to imagination. She recently co-author for the book called “Unsent Letters: An Anthology of Open Letters from the South Asian Diaspora” with emerging women writers from South Asian Origin.
Not only stop sharing her thoughts with writings, she wants to raise her voice against colourism, transgender discrimination and human rights violence. Other than that, her aim is to create a human services charity with the missions ‘zero-hungry’ – which is to develop the country with zero hungry people and ‘support farmers’ – which is to assist the farmers who are in the need as well as to train them in agrotechnology in order to increase their yield, efficiency, and profitability. If universe allows, she will enter into Television and entertainment industry as the her voice to be heard and reached everyone.
Why she wanted participate in the pageant and entered into modelling industry?
As a girl who has faced many biases and criticisms for her dark skin tone from childhood, she wanted to prove that no matter what your skin colour is, beauty is how we handle the external world from internal. She consider this pageant as a learning experience which helps to mould into a better version of herself
